Our Wellbeing Walking Football takes place at 10am, every Thursday at Goals, Plymouth.

With an ever-growing team, who, although from various walks of life, different ages, personalities and abilities, all share something in common – having experienced a life-altering event, such as a stroke, or been affected, directly or indirectly. by a medical event or condition, at some time in their lives.

We get together each week to have a kick around, let off steam and chat. At the same time, we’re seeing improvements in mobility, fitness, co-ordination and confidence.

Not everyone who comes along will choose to play and that’s absolutely fine. Whether playing or spectating – from the minute you arrive until the time you leave, it is impossible not to have a good time.

The importance is, we get together. These amazing individuals, the majority of whom had never met prior to forming this group, were brought together because of circumstances and situations that were out of their control.

They’ve no doubt had and still experience problems and difficulties, however, these get-togethers make a massive impact on their lives and play a very important role in their recovery, alongside their medication and therapies.
